Nonconformances (NC) can be cancelled by users with permission level of Quality Owner, Approver and Editor.

Access the Nonconformance module from the Navigation bar under Improvement

To initiate a cancellation of an NC, hover over the one in which you are interested and click on to open it.

Open NC

If the NC is still open, click on the Cancel icon and enter your cancelation justification as well as select cancelation approvers.

Some notes to remember:

  • If the initiator of the cancelation has Quality Owner or Approver permission level they must approve the cancellation (name in bold).
  • If the initiator of the original NC has the permission level of Quality Owner or Approver, they must also approve the cancellation (name in bold).
  • At least two people must approve the cancellation.
  • The approvers displayed are based on the approval settings determined by the Quality Owner.

Click on Confirm Cancelation to route it to the approvers you specified. Once an NC cancellation is approved, it can be viewed in the module when the Show cancelled toggle is turned ON.

Closed NC

If the NC Is closed and not associated with a CAPA, then click on the Edit icon first, then you will see the cancel button.

Click on the Cancel icon, enter the justification for the cancellation and select the approvers.

  • If the initiator of the cancelation has Quality Owner or Approver permission level they must approve the cancellation (name in bold).
  • If the initiator of the original NC has the permission level of Quality Owner or Approver, they must also approve the cancellation (name in bold).
  • At least two people must approve the cancellation.
  • The approvers displayed are based on the approval settings determined by the Quality Owner.

Once the NC cancellation has been approved, it will show when the Show Cancelled toggle in turned ON.
